  1. Why is this in the Birds section?

This question will probably get deleted.

    But i'll answer anyway/

Are they both male? Males can fight ya know , if the staffy is a female then maybe he loves her, get the lhasa neutered , it usually calms em down.

  2. Is the older dog neutered?   If  not  that is part of the problem.   Males tend to fight over territory.    Next questionis  why do you have a 7 week old  puppy??? Puppies should be with mom at the very least 12 weeks.

My suggestion would be  1.  if the older dog isn't neutered take care of that.  2.  Take the puppy back to where you got it until it's at the very least 12 weeks old, they need to stay with mom to get the proper training in the dog world, and learn the necessary lessons  for survival.  I wouldn't give up on the puppy,  just return it to mom until 12 weeks.   Anyone  who breeds  dogs  should know better then to give the pups  up before 12 weeks, and if you got it from a private owner,  they shouldn't breed if they don't understand what the pups  need and when it is the best time to adopt out the puppies.

Next  step would be  let the older dog know who is leader of the pack and it's not him.   Don't allow him to be the leader,  you  make sure you are the one  who leads the pack.   While you are waiting for the puppy to become 12 weeks purchase a book called "Be the Pack Leader" by Cesar Milan.  That will give you very valuable information in two areas.  1.  taking care of the older dog and  2.  preparing to bring a new pup into your home.

It's  not  just bring puppy home and all will be  fine,  there is a pecking order in the pack and the dogs have their own ways  of letting each other know who is where in the pack.    There will be tiffs  and little fights and that is all very normal.

www.cesarmilan.com  has a great wealth of information on behavioral problems in dogs.     You can e-mail them and within 24 hours  you should have a reply.    But  I would  first take care of business with that puppy and get him/her back to mom.  Then take care of the older dog,  if  not neutered,  take care of that.  Then work on letting him know he is not the pack leader.   Then you will be ready to take  on the new puppy again, and the puppy will be old enough to understand what the older dog is communicating.

    Wish you the best.
