I have a toshiba 56HM66 tv. do i need a converter box?

toshiba 56HM66 HD DLP TV, i think i have a ATSC/QAM tuner installed(according to the website: http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/televisions/product.asp?model=56HM66) Do I need a dtv converter box for the Feb.2009 change? i dont think i do, but i need to make sure. thanks.

  1. No--you will not need a converter box for the TV you have when using rabbit ears.  This set has a built in digital tuner


  2. If you use digital cable, satellite, etc, meaning t.v. you pay for, then you don't need the converter box. The only reason you'd need one is if you just used free basic cable, which is broadcast in analog. That includes using rabbit-ear antennas, too. Otherwise, you should survive the conversion just fine.
