  1. Stay away from greasy foods and dairy products as they cause unnecessary digestive processes drawing blood away from where you could really use it. Fruits (bananas) poultry ok.

  2. Fruits with out a lot of acid , breads, and fish are ok.

  3. The night before, eat carbos for energy, no dairy products or beef, they are heavy and take a while to digest. In the morning, eat a wholesome bowl of cereal, such as cheerios or a little oatmeal. An hour before your race, drink 1 whole bottle of water. Dont worry too much about eating energy foods, they only help so much. Dont fill yourself with water before the race, ull cramp.

My technique for the 800m is go out a strong, fast pace for the first lap, dont let anybody open up a gap on u. trail the person if there is one your competing with. The second lap ur oppenent will try and pass u on the 100m going into the second lap, or anywhere from there. DONT LET HIM. Stick to him, and a little before u get to the last half a lap, cut infront of him, or he will try and break loose from u, After u get in front of him, power in that last turn and give it all u got on that 100m. Believe me it works, you oppenent is probly as tired as u are-there not superman.

    Good luck.

P.S. Im a 7th grade middle school track runner boy and my Championships were on Thursday. I got first with a time of 2.14. So ur a good runner. :) Also, i posted a question for all runners to post their mile, 800m, or 400m times. Plz check it out.
