i want to make my tree house two stories this summer, the tree is about 11 years old, and the tree house is supported on t he bottom by 4 thick lumber posts, its 7ft 7 in by 4ft 4in, how will i be able to suspend the top layer without it possibly falling and crushing the people that are goign to be underneath, should i get more thick posts and stick them inside the treehouse to hold up the top? and i also would like to know if youd think it'd be safer to put more posts houlding it up on the bottom. please help, i want to get this done in two weeks.

  1. BE CAREFUL!

  2. It sounds like you may not have the proper support your tree house needs in order to sustain a safe and reliable play structure.  Try having experienced general contractors go out and give you an estimate on what you wish to do.  If you don't like their qoutes, then that's okay.  You really only want their professional opinion on rather or not the structure can support the extra weight, and a basic idea on how you should do it yourself.  Good luck and happy playing (or watching your kids play).
