it has a dark shell. on the shell there are yellow spots. short tail. claws on it's feet. it's shell has hexagon shapes on it. it's upper jaw curves down into a piont. and it comes from a damp forest area.

if you think you know what it is, can you please tell me what to feed it too?

  1. Regular, round spots? Box turtles have streaks or large, irregular spots. Spotted and Blanding's turtles have regular, round spots. However, the habitat sounds more like box turtle habitat. They also have higher, narrower shells than the other two and a hinge in the lower shell, which the spotted turtle lacks.

Can you post or email pictures? Knowing where you collected the turtle would help too. Try to be more specific than just the state.

  2. I would recommend you to take a picture of it and post it on a reptile forum or something.

  3. I think Box Turtle.

  4. In my knowledge i believe it might be an eastern boxer turtle. But im no expert try to do some research at a local library.

  5. i believe this is a painted turtle. I found one with my girl scout troop and other girl scout troops and it was a VERY damp area!! Check more about it!
