I have a two week old kitten, what do I do with it?

My roomie found a little black kitten stuck in a drain as she was leaving church last night. She brought it home and asked me to watch it this morning and somehow over the course of the day it has become my kitten

His name is Titus, I took him to the vet and they said he is two and a half weeks old, and perfectly healthy. He cries a lot, like a little bird, and he likes to snuggle in my fiance's armpit.

How can I make him more happy? I feel sad for him because he probably wishes he was snuggling his siblings, but instead he's all alone.

  1. Make sure he eats.  Does he have to be fed with an eyedropper or does he eat solid food?

  2. Well first he needs lots of attention, so play with him and snuggle with him whenever he is awake! I had two kittens about that age, and they liked to get under a blanket with me. They also like the lie down on your chest (they like the heart beat). When you put him in his box to sleep, give him a stuffed animal to snuggle with and maybe a watch or a clock that ticks, so he will have a small bit of noise.

Good luck with your kitty! <3

  3. Bless you for taking this poor little kitty.

I have had many cats and I really enjoy them.

They aren't that hard to care for.

Your kitten is crying because it is way too young to have been

seperated from its mom. Believe it or not, animals suffer from

seperation anxiety just as human children do.  He will need lots

of extra love from you and your fiance.  My cats always sleep on

my husband and I think it is because men seem to be physically

warmer than women.  Have patience - Titus should've been with

mom for at least 5 or 6 more weeks.  Try to find a really soft something -- blankie, plush toy, stuffed animal, etc. -- for him to call

his own.  This will comfort him when you guys aren't there or can't

    hold him.

    Love him/be kind to him

He is new to this world, and it's big!!

  4. Oh i love kittens they really touch my heart. Just fed him Pet brand milk and it will love you.

  5. Wal-Mart has cat milk and kitten bottles. You can get those and feed the kitten until it is big enough to eat kiten chow and canned cat food.

    edit:

Do NOT feed him cow's milk of any kind. It will give him feline diabetes.

  6. If your local shelter has a nursing mother cat who could adopt him, that would be great.  If not, feed him, keep him warm, and follow the vet's instructions. Get with a shelter to guide you through anything you don't understand. He sound really sweet. Glad he has you.

  7. just love him and he will be fine.
