  1. You did not furnish enough information.  I had that problem one time and it was because the tray had gummed up with calcite.  Take the tray off and wash with bleach.  The ice will not release the ice if it is contaminated with impurities.

  2. First make sure the bale, "the arm" is connected and down turning it on.

Then feel in the ice tray and see if there is any ice in there. If not, it is likely a water problem like a bad valve or the fill tube is frozen up because you turned the freezer temp to max cold (I don't know why people do that).

If there is ice in it then it is not cycling. With Whirlpool the most likely problem other than something like a plastic bag caught in it, is the module is bad. You can remove the cover on the head end to see it. Most often there is a white geared wheel in the center that is loose. The tabs that hold it on break and if loose the contacts on the underside don't make contact. Press on it and the unit may start to rotate.

If it has ice in it, three out of four times you need a new module for one reason or the another. I have replaced many many of those.

    Good Luck.
