I have a usb device but it keeps saying eveytime i plug it in not reconised help?

how do i fix this problem anyone who tells me how to get this fixed ill give 20 points tops

  1. You need to say what kind of USB device it is (e.g. a mouse, a camera, a flash drive, Mp3 player etc). The reason is that some USB devices require that you install drivers before they can work; others will work with generic drivers provided in the operating system's database (eg. of this is flash drives)...

    In any case the PC should at least notify you with a sound that it observed that something was plugged in. Once that happens it means that the device is intact and not damaged. If windows doesn't automatically find drivers in its database it will ask you for them. Sometimes (rarely) you may need to install the driver prior to plugging in the device. So you need to provide more specifics to get good help. If you can provide the type of device or better still, the brand model info, that will help us help you.  


  2. You cannot give 20 points, only 10.  You did not state what kind of device it is.  If it plugs in directly or it uses a cable (like a camera).  Could be a bad cable, could be a bad device.  Try it in a different computer and see if it works, if not then it is the device.
