The previous owner wants more money in the month that we agreed to give her and now she is kind of saying that she wants the trailer back. this was a verbal agreement is this good in court in case she wants to throw us out. The trailer is in a park.We don't even have 2 weeks with the property. We paid her back rent for the space and gave her 500 beside. This prob. started because I asked her to come and get a car and some other prop. of the space because I need to do some work and can't because they are in the way. She also said that she wanted more money because somebody told her that we were working on the trailer and that meant that we had money so she wants more money. Help!!!

  1. Even though you don't have a written agreement with the previous owner you do have a binding contract.  The only way that she will be able to get more money legally is to take you to court.  In the future I suggest that you get a written contract before you enter into this kind of agreement.

  2. From a lawyer.  If the oral contract is possible of being performed in less than one year it is enforceable. It's up to the judge as to whom he believes but if you can show evidence that you have paid more than normal rent he will believe you.  Go now and file a small claim in the justice of the peace court.

  3. My gosh man, just PACK YOUR BAGS AND GET THE h**l OUT OF THERE. Don't pay this woman one penny. Let her sue you if she wants money that she claims you owe her. I wouldn't even deal with that situation I would just pack up and go and I don't have money. I read your whole post and my mouth just dropped. This woman sounds like a nut. Lock your doors at night and keep the lights on in case she shows up with an ax or a meat cleaver.

  4. Who holds the lease with the trailer park and who has the pink slip to the trailer? If you have neither, you can either pay her , move out, or go to small claims and see if a judge is sympathetic.
