I have a very good understanding with Ashwin, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PP-Ojha-c2198 – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Ashwin-c2228 and revealed that both of them have played most of their junior cricket together, which has helped them create a sense of understanding.
The Men in Blue have always had the services of quality spinners over the years. In the last 15 years, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harbhajan-Singh-c61453 won a number of matches for their country. After the former’s retirement from international cricket
and the latter’s loss of form in the last couple of years, India struggled in the bowling department; hence, losing their number one ranking in Test cricket.
However, the likes of Ashwin and Ojha, two brilliant young spinners, have emerged through the ranks of domestic cricket in the country. The spin-twins have already made a mark at the highest level of the game as they helped Mahendra
Singh Dhoni and company to beat http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 at home, although their credentials in foreign conditions are yet to be proved.
While speaking to ESPNcricinfo, the left-arm spinner expressed that there is no rivalry between him and Ashwin as they enjoy a very pleasant relation with each other, having played together in domestic cricket.
“We have played a lot of junior cricket together. Right from the Under-16s we have been playing against each other and also for the same [South] zone,” he expressed. “We are also from the same age group. It is easy to talk to each other
and discuss things.”
Ojha has so far played 16 Tests for India, picking up 75 victims; whereas, the lanky off-spinner has grabbed 49 in eight. The cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Orissa-c828 further added that he and Ashwin complement each other quite nicely, with one looking
to keep things tight if the other is picking up wickets at the other end.
“It is basically about momentum. As a cricketer on the field, you can understand the situation. Like when he is getting wickets, I always tell myself that I should not be over-smart and should not try to show that I am also there and
that I too can take wickets,” Ojha added.
