  1. is this new??? if so see your doctor it may be more than just a lazy eye, If not why are you waiting until now to try and fix it.

  2. Well I don't know honestly.  I am 16 and I used to have lazy eye badly, and I had to go through three surgeries in total, it was a tough time for me because teenagers and younger kids can be brutual, and I eventually went through the surgeries and even now my lazy eye isn't completely fixed I have to focus constantly to have a straight vision, whenever I relax, my eyes go out.

See I have two lazy eyes, and they alternate which one is weaker, when I was younger they went in, the left was weaker, and then I had surgery which made them go out too much, and the right one was weaker, and now they just go out slightly, but it's the right one that's weaker still, but if I focus constantly my eyes are fine.  It's a small lazy eye because no one notices that I have it unless I tell them, then they look for it.

But for at least 3 months when I absolutely refused to have a third surgery, I went to a place called Adema.   I'm pretty sure that's what it's called, but I'm not sure if it's all over the place, and most likely it's just local in my place because I just looked and the internet shows all these bands, so I don't think it's where you are located.

But this place really helped, but my lazy eye was medium, not great, but it wasn't humungous, and it was still in both eyes.  But if your lazy eye is not that big then I say just look for some eye therapy places for that, that specifically work with that.  And remember surgery, may not always completely put the eye back, my eyes still both go out when I am not focussing, it just isn't nearly as big as it once was.

But I know many older people who have lazy eye, who don't have surgery, but if you feel that's what you need, by all means do it, but I would say the therapy first, it really helped me.   Especially the place I went to.  Good luck.

  3. I had the surgery when I was 7 and I'm 22 now and it still dosnt look right, to me anyways. I have found that contacts work for me the best! When I was younger my eye went -in- and now it goes -out- when Im tired or just read to much etc. But when I have contacts in its better...well pretty straight. The surgery wasnt too bad from what I remeber like the other girl said its like you have an eyelash in your eye for like a week. But I was 7 and I could handle it. I would try the contact thing tho. I hate glasses b/c one eye looks way bigger than the other even w/ the thinner lens. But I still cant see good out of that eye but I am using it at least! I wish you the best...

  4. yes it is.

  5. i think surgery would do good even if you are afraid. i have a lazy eye on my right too and i might need it. i think it well work great but i'm afraid in the future.

  6. Hasn't the eye doctor suggested the patch?  You wear a patch on your good eye. This forces the lazy eye to work and become stronger.  Lazy eye runs in my family.  Three generations.

  7. yes it is. i had a lazy eye had 4 ops 1 wen i was 1, the 2nd wen i was 2, the 3rd when i was 14 an the 4th wen i was 15. the op aint that bad wen u wake up it just feels like u have a few eye lashes in ur eye.
