I have a very old metal pole-lamp, 2 pieces have broken, one looks like it was riveted?

I need to reattach them, they're a bit too heavy for super-glue. I keep thinking WELD IT but I'm not a welder and don't have what I'd need for that. Any advice very much appreciated!

  1. Another option might be a bushing. Male to male if there is thread on the interior of the piece that was rivited. A good hardward/ Home center store might have the size you need.

  2. You might try an epoxy, like JB Weld, found at any autoparts store (or the auto department of stores like WalMart, and Target)

If its a simple case of the parts seperating because of a broken rivet, you can always drill out the old rivet, and put in a new rivet, or even drill thru, and use a bolt.

We'd need to see a photo of the parts to get more specific with our answers.

    Good Luck
