I'm a 20 year old male, my voice is really loud and resonant but I often sound like a woman or a pre-pubescent boy. I have a bloody hard time controlling the pitch of my voice, especially when I'm excited about something. I sing in a choir and I can hit disgustingly high notes (alto 2/tenor 1; think George Michael) and people keep telling me that's not normal for a guy who's balls already dropped. What can I do to make my voice more deep and growly (without drinking or smoking cigarettes)? Also, is this generally considered a turnoff?

  1. for the singing part of your voice that may help in general would be doing scales going down as low as you can each day. eventualy you scale will get more comfotable being low. as a girl i did that to get my voice higher

  2. I think ur already going through some type of teen to adult change with ur  voice. I know alot of guys are going through this. friends and family.  I have a nephew that didn't start growing facial hair until he was 25. A guy on my job is 22 and his face(growing facial hair) and voice is trying to mature now even though he is grown. I also noticed the change in how he dresses. He used to be sloppy. ANYWAY, don't worry ur still maturing, nothing you can do about that. maybe the change will be complete when ur in the mid 20's. ur normal.
