I have a video game idea, but don't know what to do with it.?

For the past few years, I've been working on a story... Now, it has evolved, and I have to say, I really like it. I wanted to put this in a book, but now I feel that it would be much better off as a video game - It would even have a good game play - the concept is such. However, I have no idea how or what I have to do. I'm still in school, and since I'm currently residing in India, there aren't many opportunities, either. I would like to know what exactly I can do with this concept, and how. Thanks in advance...

Well im just thinking of anything that can help you so i guess get some friends and a camera man and start filming and write down your ideas.

What you want to do is start with a design document. I've never seen one personally but the design doc should cover that major aspects of the game. The story maybe a bit of the art style. the game play. various things you want the user to feel, see, do. Once you have that you can shop your design doc around to various developers and see if any are willing to bite.
