I have a video on my camera. Im trying to get it on windows movie maker, but it wont work.. please read on?

I have a video that i recorded on my digital camera, i out it on the computer but when i double click it. it goes into apple quicktime. and im trying to get it into windows movie maker, but it wont let me. ive tried to open the video with another program and that works. i tried opening it with movie maker but it still wont work. PLEASE HELP, I NEED THIS FOR A PROJECT!

  1. The odds are your camera has recorded the file in a *.mov file format in which case it will not function with Windows Movie Maker.

    Whether this is the case or not, it seems that the file format is not supported by WMM.

    I suggest a video converted to convert this to either *.mpg or *.wmv (windows media video) for best results. (WMM seems to have some glitches when it comes to editing *.mpg files and seems to work better *.wmv videos and crash less...)

    Then try to import your converted video in WMM. (Ctrl+I).

  2. quicktime will only work with quicktime pro.
