would like to buy a DVD player. Would it be OK to connect it via the Scart socket on the television? I don't want to damage the television as it was only bought a few months old.

  3. Yes - you can plug a DVD into the SCART socket on a TV.

    Your VCR is probably tuned to a channel like 8 or 10.

    The DVD will be set to a channel like 0 or EXT1 / EXT2 / AV if you use the SCART socket to attach it. You wont need to actually tune it in.

  4. Yeh it should be okay to do this.

  5. Scart leads are the easiest way to connect your tv and dvd player, no tuning just press the AV switch on your remote!
