I am running XP svp.2. I have Mcafee virus protection. I opened up my processes (ctrl + alt+ del) and saw that i had several process that are running that should not be. These were Run32dll.exe, I had 5 of those running as well as another one that said Ttm4uURS.exe. I looked up that latter and could not find any mention on Yahoo or Google. I am going to try and Put AVG on there and see i can find it.

As far as what it is doing. At first it will not allow me to connect to certain websites, i.e. Facebook, Yahoo Mail, or google search. It did however let me go to Ask.com, ESPN.com, and a few other news sites. I then Upgraded to Firefox 3.0 and it now will not let me connect at all. It shows that it is trying to connect then suddenly says "stopped" at the bottom. I looked up something and it told me to disable Java, I did and it allowed me to connect for about 10 sec. then it cut out again. any help would be appriciated.

  1. I suggest you also download Ad-Aware 2008 and Spybot S&D (they’re free), install them, update them and run them. If any of the above (or any anti-malware, for that matter) doesn’t seem to be able to run properly or get rid of everything it reports finding, try running it again in Safe Mode.

Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.

To get into Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking:

    1. Log out and reboot your machine.

    2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.

    3. Select Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu.

    4. When the login screen comes up, log in as Administrator.  By default, Administrator has no password.

    5. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different.

    6. When you're finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

Note that even if the anti-malware programs get rid of the malware, they may not be able to reverse the effects.  Search the Web for possible fixes.

Update and run everything regularly, not just when you think you already have malware.

    Good luck.

  2. Download the free version of Supernantispyware.  Finds viruses and spyware without any conflict to your own antiviurs.  http://www.superantispyware.com  Update and run and in depth scan.  Free you must update daily on a manual basis or purchase and get auto. updates.

  3. Try stopping the processes. If that doesn't work then go to another computer that had Internet access and download avast! Virus Remover and then burn it to a disc and open it up on the computer that has the virues. It will scan your computer and remove the viruses even after they enter the computer. Visit this link to get it.
