I have the Whirlpool duet sport washer/dreyer stackable. It is on the second floor and I swear the thing is going to run down my steps one day during the spin cycle. It is so bad that I acually have been stopping it right before the spin cycle and putting the clothes in the dryer while they are really damp. I forgot to stop it yesterday and it nearly moved across the room. Today I went to wash a load and half way through I got an error message and had to take everything out dripping wet! This thing has been a nigthmare from day one. It doesn't help that the area around the washer is so tight you can't even get behing the thing to check it out! It's sort of open closet. I would have to climb on top of the washer!! ( My contractor suggested that I not make an enclosure around it but I didnt listen! LOL) Does anyone know who I could call or what I could do? I am going to start by calling the Whirlpool people in the morning. I cant find my instruction booklet.

  1. I have worked on appliance for years and this is the most common complaint that I deal with.

The first thing you need to do is make sure that the appliance is level and that the legs are tight so that they don't come loose causing you appliance to come unlevel again.  The next thing that is probably causing the problem is it being on the second floor.   The best place for washers and dryers are on a concrete floor especially front load models due to the speed obtained during spin cycle.  Washing Machine bring out the best in weak floors, even thought the floor seems to be solid to you and I, the vibration will cause to the appliance to really shake.  If you can't move it to any other location, I would recommend getting a 7/8" sheet of plywood and s******g it down every 6 to 9 inches to make to floor more solid.  Good luck

  2. You have one of two problems. The first you can fix.

    1. When you load the washer make sure your load is as level as possible.

    2. At the start of the spin cycle, instead of taking the wet clothes out and working your dryer overtime, level the load again.

    3. Wash heavy stuff with heavy stuff. Wash light stuff with light stuff.

The second reason for your problem is one you can't fix. There are two or three springs that hold your tub in place and help to counterbalance the whole thing. If one or more of these are broken or out of place then you do have to call a repair man.

  3. sounds like the washer tub is out of balance,

its a company problem, call em,

  4. I dont know, but the way you put the question is cracking me up! Lol!  Sorry, but he thing sounds like it has a mind of it's own!  It does sound as though something is imbalanced or not properly weighted. I would call the people in the morning, for sure. I know it's not really funny, but thanks for the laughs ( w/d from h lololll)

  5. I would guess that you did not remove the shipping bolts that are in the back of the machine - those HAVE to come out, or it'll jump all over the place.
