just take it to the dry cleaners - they will be able to look at the fabric and tell you if it's safe to dryclean.  don't just chuck it in the washing machine!

Definitely take it to the cleaners.  I think trying to do anything with it yourself would ruin it.

Some cleaners specialize in cleaning and boxing wedding dresses.  Check your yellow pages and call around.  Explain your situation and they may still be able to help you.

I just got a wedding dress cleaned I bought at the thrift store. It had  blue stains on the bottom of the dress . The upper part with lots of pearls and satin with toole fabric . I went to walmart and got a Dryel dry cleaning kit , used the spot remover worked on the blue spots then, I put it in the bag with the 2  pads from the kit , it went in the dryer on a low cycle for 45 minutes. I took it back to the hotel room and steamed it in the bath room it looked great !! hope this helps, friends think I'm a Martha.
