he is eating hardly anything for a 1 year old but he is drinking... the weird question is would that cause him to have bags under his eyes? they look like he got in a fight and both his eyes got hit. Some people are saying it could be his eating or the fact that he's half Peurto rican and he a little darker. The second one doesnt make much sense but im really worried.

  1. Dont worry too much, first things first: babies dont starve themselves. Usually if a child suddenly loses appetite, its due to growth spurts. Grab some Pediasure if he likes to drink, for that. As far as bags go, I would definitely get him some regular children's vitamins, just to make sure he's getting most of what he needs. Do you know if he is on track as far as weight goes? If he is, casually inform the doctor of your concerns, and let him asess if there's anything more you need be doing. Good luck!

  2. Sounds like an iron deficiency. You need to limit his milk or fluid intake to encourage him to eat more. Cut it back by 30%. If he normally drinks 30 oz. milk, only let him have 20. He's filling up on milk and he's not eating enough calories. Also, go to the store adn get PolyViSol Vitamins. These are infant drops in the pharmacy for babies and that should help. Goodluck.

  3. You should definately take him to the doctor for a problem like that.

  4. Is he getting enough sleep?  Take him to the doctor if he is not eating enough!!

  5. Take him to the doctor.

  6. It could be a vitamin problem, lack of proper sleep or even allergies causing the bags under his eyes.

  7. Consult your family Doctor or pediatrician for the best advice.

From my point of view he just dislikes the taste of food.Try Take a bit of food and apply in his tongue. When he likes the food taste he automatically will start eating food he likes.

  8. since he loves drinking milk  so much and doesn't want to eat, I would give him less milk and see if that works.  Well you did say he won't eat whether he has liquids or not.  If you can afford it, I would just give him enfamil next step instead of whole milk.  That way you know he will be getting the nutrients he needs.
