I have a weird thing with music, is anyone else like this?

Why is it that when I listen to a certain song, I will not like it at first, but when I come back a week later I will love it. Does this happen to you to, or is it just me?

Sure, its a acquired taste. For example alcoholic beverages.

yes. but then theres also the feeling when you love a song the first time you hear it, so you hunt down that song then listen to it 32498752 times.... then hate it. i prefer disliking at first, then growing to love.

Because in my opinion art of all types, should sit in our minds to gain meaning to us.  The pop song (the one that most people initially like) has very little value in the long run and usually has meaningless lyrics like that song "Umber-ella-ella-ella-eh eh eh" song, it is initially catchy then annoying. That song sounds neat but is nothing else. Or like that song that literally is "they try to make me go to rehab, I say no, no, no no."  That song is lame, I mean come on!

The song that we initially often do not like, we do not like right off because it doesn't come off like a dumb pop song (which primarily aims to flirt with our sense of amusment, whilst carrying little more), by this it doesn't give our ears the proverbial reach-around that pop gives,  and then when we listen to it again we may understand another element all together.  We may be able to relate to it.  The pop song is not even something our genuine emotional selves cannot relate to.

It's not just you, I do it too.

It depends what mood I am in when i first hear it, I may be in a "i want something heavier" type of mood and it doesn't fit me then, but when in a "I'll take on a new thing" mood, I can love it!

Music is all about mood...

all people who don't understand or feel the lyrics from the 1st time will feel like this , it is normal.
