  1. First, make sure there's no other source of money you can tap to send to her. Also, if there's a particular item she's wanting to get, can you order it for her to avoid transaction fees associated with taking money off a credit card? I ask because Credit Cards charge fees for cash withdrawals generally. Aside from financing interest if you do not pay your card in full every month, there are often "transaction fees" that are assessed regardless. I've typically noticed this charge to be 3% of the total amount withdrawn or a minimum flat fee, whichever is LARGER.

If your are already fully aware of this, then I will continue. I just wanted to warn you on this first. :)

1st: Call your card company. (The number should be on the back of the card) Some banks offer promotional convenience checks where you can actually write out a check to whomever you want... yourself, another credit card, your wife... whoever. These checks often come with promotional rates or no transaction fees for a limited time. You may already have some. My card company sends them along with other junk mail on a regular basis. You may also ask the card company if they have anything similar that they can do for you that wouldn't require you to have to send a paper check. Be sure to inquire about any great promotional deals they have going on and, assuming you pay your credit card regularly and are in good standing, find out what being such a great customer will get you.

Just be sure to get all the "fine print" such as how long the lower rate lasts or what limitations there are to any no transaction fee promotions. If you want any help with the mumbo-jumbo the card company is likely to give ya, just email me and I can do what I can to help you along. :D

  2. you can western union her some cash that you've taken from your card. Or you can call the 800 # on the back of your card and ask them
