Question:

I have a white fuzzy flocking-like substance on the branches of my Ponderosa Pine. What is it?

This occurs just on and just below the tips. No bugs are obvious but this doesn't look like fungus.

  1. i don't' know what it is, but one of our clients has the same thing on her white pine bush, she had to call out a professional to take care of it.  wish you luck


  2. You might search Pine Bark Adelgid to see if that is your critter..often mistaken for the wooly aphids

  3. There's a bug that makes a sort of "nest". Its called an apple bagworm. The female stays inside, and the males looke more like black moths, I guess. Here's link to see if this matches...

    The links I sent only show the brown casings. There are ones that look almost exact, but are white to grey.
