I want to do something healthy and something that lasts, since I don't want all my apples to waste it'd need to be something that lasts a long time and uses all or most of them.

Thank you!

  1. Peel them, chop them, add some spices and cook down until you have applesauce. Applesauce freezes and thaws beautifully.

  2. How about an apple pie or drink

  3. If it's such a problem, why don't you just give them away...share them...that'll make you feel good...won't it?

  4. Apple tart, apple Jam.

  5. Not knowing what kind of apples you have makes this kind of difficult to answer but you can always slice and freeze some after sprinkling with lemon juice so that they don't brown, make applesauce, apple pies, apple cobblers, baked apples, cinnamon apples, spiced apples, apple coffee cakes, apple jelly, apple butter...

  6. It depends on what type of apples they are.

Some are better for baking others are better for sauce.

You can slice the apples and season them, cinnamon and some sugar and just cook down to make a very good apple sauce, cooked down a bit further and you will have a good apple butter.  Apple butter and sauce should keep for a little while in the refrigerator but you should be able to freeze either one if you don't  "can" or preserve them.

I don't know if you can freeze the apples for later use or if you would end up with mush.

You can also dry or dehydrate apple slices, you can also dehydrate the applesauce to make your own fruit leather.

  7. Well, you could do low sugar apple jelly for your toast in the morning. Or you could do pickled apples. Both are quite sweet, but that's the price you pay when you make preserves with fruit.

  8. This is very similar to how I preserve apples.

    Use sugar substitute.

    Apple Preserves.

    Ingredients

7 cups cored peeled sliced tart apples (sliced 1/4 inch thick, Granny Smith)

    1 cup apple juice

2 tablespoons strained fresh lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon unsalted butter (this is correct)

    5 cups sugar

1 (3 ounce) envelope liquid pectin

    1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

    1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    Directions

1In an 8-quart pot, combine apples, apple juice, lemon juice, and butter.

2Over medium heat, bring the apple mixture to a boil; decrease heat and simmer, covered, until the apples are tender, about 8-10 minutes.

3Remove the cover; add in sugar, 1 cup at a time, stirring gently between each addition.

4Heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved.

5Increase heat to medium-high and bring mixture to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly.

6Stir in all the pectin; return to a full boil, stirring constantly.

    7Boil, stirring constantly, 1minute.

8Remove pan from heat; skim off any foam.

9Gently stir in the nutmeg and cinnamon until combined.

10To prevent floating fruit, allow the preserves to cool 5 minutes before filling the jars.

11Gently stir the preserves to distribute the fruit.

12Ladle the preserves into hot sterilized jars, leaving ¼ inch headspace.

13Wipe the jar rims and threads with a clean, damp cloth.

14Cover hot lids and apply s***w rings.

    15Process half-pint jars in a 200° F water bath for 10 minutes; pint jars for 15 minutes.

  9. I make apple sauce with just a blender, don't cook them and add sugar, wonderful fresh flavor;

    then there's apple pie

    and

    baked apple

  10. Applesauce

    Apple pie

  11. Apple pies.  You can keep them in a freezer until you are ready to eat them.
