  1. If you install Xp they will both be on there. Every time you turn on the computer it will ask if starting Vista or Xp. So if it dosn't work, Start in Vista and uninstall Xp.

  2. Back-up or copy your files to a CD or movable harddisk like USB harddisk. Format your entire PC or laptop, and put in a fresh installation of Win XP. My laptop was bought with Windows Vista installed, however, I have difficulties of not being able to use or install other programs currently not being supported by Vista. I have to buy another Windows XP Pro CD and have it installed with a fresh formatted drive.

  3. Move ur data to a separate partition and then format the C drive. If u r not sure move the files to a pen drive

  4. First of all let me know how many drives you have got in your computer. Then only it can be told whether you will loose all your files or not. Anyway you have to partition that particular drive if you have got multiple drives. You should copy your files in the My Documents folder.

  5. You cannot install XP over the top of Vista. You would have to wipe your hard drive and start from scratch.

  6. If you install a new operating system, you *will* lose any files on the computer.

Back up anything important on an external hard drive, another computer, some flash drives, or CDs.

  7. ya vista suks, get xp for system builders at newegg, or wait untill windows 7 comes out in 2010
