I have a zimbabwean passport with a permanent uk residency and would like to travel to paris do i need a visa?

I want to go for 3 nights and have yet to travel outside the uk since i obtained my residency

  1. as you're inside the eu, they wont ever ask for your passport, will they?! furthermore, you're basically a member of the eu, so you're free to travel inside of the eu, irrespetively! enjoy it!

Unfortunately, the French government website that shows visa requirements by country is down right not but I believe this information to be correct however, you should check with the French Consulate in the UK to be certain.  You will need a short stay visa, your passport, and whatever proof you have of permanent residency.  You can get the visa from a French consulate in the UK.  You need the passport for identification and reentry into the UK.  They do ask for passports on all international flights, even within the EU.  The residency documents (in some countries this is a stamp in the passport) will be needed in place of a visa to get through UK passport control when you return.
