I have about 3/4 dings on my longboard, If I just leave em, how long will it take to really mess up my board?

I bought the board for a hundred bucks, and I don't want the mess of dealing with repair kits.. I just want to know if small inch/less dings/cracklings could eventually render the board un-rideable. And if so how long?

  1. Why not just cut up a sticker and put it over the dings, that way you don't have to worry about it.  If the are clear through the glass it could get water logged pretty quick.

  2. Stickers do work on small dings. In fact, Quiksilver makes stickers for small dings. But there really isn't a mess dealing with repair kits. They're really easy to use, and you can fix small dings and hit the water an hour later. You can buy it at any surf shop.

Don't use it until you fixed it. It'll only take one day in the water to soak the foam and delamination will begin. Get that stick waterproofed.

  3. contrary to popular belief, stickers DO work. i had a brand new board that i managed to get a small hole on the bottom (long story), anyway-i covered it up with a team sticker (from a company i was on flow with), it worked perfectly---and i traded the board in for a new one 4 months later. i was the only one that knew.

  4. Don't put a sticker over it, we all know that that never works. Anyone who tells you to put a sticker or wax over a ding doesn't know what they are talking about.

If you don't want to fix the ding yourself thats fine. Take it to your local surf shop or ding repair guy and ask them to fix it. When you send $300- $600 on a board you don't want to trash it.
