When you shave "down there", how do you keep from getting bumps and stuff. It's really beginning to irritate me.

  1. These suggestions are supposed to help prevent irritation, but in the end it's up to you.Your mood, the amount of oil in your complexion, your peace of mind, influence the outcome a lot. Above all else, don't scratch it.

Don't shave on a day that's really hot and humid. The humidity and the moisture in the air will make it easier to get an infection, and once the infection swells and becomes inflamed, you have a hair that's ingrown. Shave late in the day after the sun has set. Consider sleeping without underwear there at first. Let the air circulate, let the skin breathe. Use a clean, unused razor to lessen the chance of infection.

Once you've shaved, get a cotton ball and apply some vinegar. It might sting, but notice how cool to the touch the skin is after it has absorbed into the skin. This can help prevent inflammation. Then, apply some aloe vera gel. It's good gentle moisturizer for the raw freshly-shaved skin and it helps the skin heal. Next, put on some baby powder. It will help repel moisture and prevent a rash.

Don't get lotion or suntan lotion on this skin. It will definitely clog the pores and become infected. If you can, go swimming. The salt water in the ocean would be really good for preventing infection. The sodium chloride in a swimming pool would dry out the skin and clean out bacteria.

Baby yourself for the first three days. If you can prevent any visible irritation during this time, you should do much better. Remember stress and anxiety are going to make it more likely to develop a skin irritation. If you sweat it out, the sooner you can clean the skin, the better the outcome. Take some B vitamins to keep you calm and some Vitamin C to help it heal quickly.

    I hope this helps you.
