I have allstate car insurance and my passenger side window was smashed and gps stolen and I later found out some other items were stolen too. I was in a rush when I filed the police report because I had to get to work. Does allstate contact the police to get a copy of the police report? should i call the police and fix the report or just tell the claims adjuster whats missing when i meet with him

  1. cALL agent and pd to explain and change allstate they are horrible

  2. Allstate will pay for the window being smashed and any damage due to vandalism under your comphrehensive coverage but the loose items that were stolen out of your vehicle are probably not likely to be covered on your auto policy. You have a better chance making a homeowners or renters claim for your personal property stolen out of your vehicle. Generally all insurance companies will not cover items that are not permanently installed in your vehicle. I would contact the police department and let them know that you need to add extra items that were stolen to the police report they have on file. You should always be able to add details to a police report. Allstate will get a copy of the police report you just have to tell them the police dept. report number and which police you reported it to. Also having an inventory list of all missing items would be good to show the adjuster when you meet up with him. Hope this helps.

  3. Call your agent, also, see if your claim would be well over your deductable, otherwise Allstate tends to raise your rates, and so it wouldn't be worth filing a claim.

  4. the best way to find an answer for a  question is trying to explore a approach among an abundant of resources.here is a good one.http://car-insurance.online-tips.info/ca...

  5. Yes, they will get a copy of the police report.  You will have to modify the police report (not hard) so that the adjuster sees ALL the missing items.  They'll only cover the items that were built into your car, AND are listed on the police report.

You likely have to make  claim on your homeowners or renters policy for the stuff that was stolen, that's not built in.

  6. call insurance agent and explain
