now I feel ashamed to say . That for the second year running we are topping the bill for animal cruelty . Is'nt it about time punishment was befitting the crime . Its too easy to take your temper out on a defenceless animal

  1. you bet ye.

  2. These days, a lot of people treat animals better than their fellow humans. People are so messed up. But yeah, you geordies are terrible. Shame on you

  3. I second that:)

  4. that's awful Ariana maybe you could file a petition to make law..What awful people have no consideration sure wish i had them in my area I have no pity for them...

  5. They top the league of alcohol abuse too

  6. It seems to be right across the board, but i do think that anyone that mistreats  animals should get a hefty fine, and do community service such as work on a farm, plus be banned from owning pets ever again.

  7. That is very sad but it does reflect you as a person, in fact it only heightens that you care because you are troubled by it.

  8. I'm with you on this one. Cruelty to animals and children are my pet[ hates {pardon the pun} But don't feel ashamed as I'm sure that the North East are any worse than anywhere in the country and its not your fault. Its a world wide problem.

  9. I think those who are cruel to animals should be banned from life from ever owning or going near an animal again. I never trust a person who lack in kindness and mercy to our four legged friends. I think like someone else said maybe there is a higher percentage of animals in that area and so reflects in the findings but personally speaking I think the North East people are by far the friendliest nicest people in the whole of the Country and I speak from experience.

  10. here, i live in the north east and i aint heard that,

    north east of where exactly?

  11. Depends on what survey you read, people in the north east also have the best sense of humour, friendliest, happiest, most miserable, ugliest etc. etc.

I live in the north east (with proper southern roots), I have a temper tantrum  occasionally, but  I have NEVER hurt an animal though and never would. Sick feckers

  12. i thought you were gonna say teen pregnancy and heroin addiction and poverty then

  13. It's everywhere, Probably more people own animals up north therefore making it a higher percentage.

  14. I honestly don't think it's got anything to do with where people come from, it's more likely more cases have actually been reported in the NorthEast, when cases go unreported elsewhere.

I live in Cornwall, and it's a known fact here, that farmers illegally cull badgers, and dump them on the road to make it look like road kill.

I also have drunken "scumbag" neighbours who keep getting new dogs, only to dump them when the novelty wears off. One is now on her 4th dog, and despite warnings from the R.S.P.C.A. she still keeps getting new dogs every few months, to throw them in the garden in all weathers. It's shameful the way people neglect defenceless animals.

  15. Far too easy.

  16. Yes. They should have harsher punishments.

  17. That title I don't envy you and when it comes to the ill treatment of animals, it touches a raw nerve with me. Time after time I see horrendous acts of cruelty in the press or on tv and the sentence handed out is no worse than a parking fine. So yes I agree with you the punishment should indeed fit the crime and a message sent out to the scum who commit these vile offences.

  18. Like Kev said the sentences should be a lot more harsher than it is now. I hope the evil scum that was referred to in BB's question roasts in h**l for what he did to that dog. He should have done to him what he did to that poor animal.

Sorry about the rant, but we have a voice animals don't.
