I have always wondered this about English people...?

This is a completely weird, off the wall question...here goes....When I was younger, I had a best friend who moved here from England. When I spent the night with her, during dinner, her family wouldn't put out any salt or pepper on the table and their food was so bland, they didn't put out anything to drink during the meal...EVER. And they wouldn't drink a thing until bedtime and it was a cup of STEAMING hot milk with sugar in it. I was thirsty as HECK! I've always remembered this and wondered if this is a normal English custom or was it just this particular family?

  2. Hahaha, no, its not common in england, I possibly season too much and I drink like a fish at any given opportunity.

  3. not all english are like that.  food is bland, though.  but they are in a cold region and spices grow in hot regions.  this will be similar all over the world.  think how india and mexico use so much spice and hot foods. HOT HOT HOT
