I have an 01 ford sport trac and when i tilt the wheel down the left blinker won't work but right will

it will blink real fast and the left taillight won't work either, but when the wheel is all the way up it will all work, how do i fix this?

you have 1 of 2 problems.

1. Shorted wire in the column resulting in blown fuse for turn signal.

2. Multi function switch: Turn Signal switch failing.

Check fuse first. In your owners manual, fuses on the left side of dash. Snaps off. If fuse is OK, multifunction switch is failing. If fuse is blown, trace wiring harness from under steering wheel down.

I've had this problem a couple times. Once it was an electrical problem and once it just needed a  new fuse.
