i have an 11 week lab pup and he goes absoloutly everywhere i go, i mean if i leave the room to go to the bathroom he is right on my heels and lies on the bathroom mat until im finished and leaves with me, i go to my bedroom and when doing my make up to go out or just sitting there he lies under my bed until i go to leave the room again and hes still behind me, i went out for a night and left him with my 2 kids and their dad and when i got home he went mental crazy with excitment to see me and started jumping all over the place and even leapt of the chair!!!!!!!!! so im wondering is this normal for him to be with me every second and minute of the day as he whimpers and whales when im gone??)i also try and take him every where with me,as in the car to the shop and other places.but i cant take him everywhere!! lol

  1. Hi there... it is very normal as he sees you now as his new mother and his sense of security lies in this belief.   As he grows, he will soon learn to develop curiosities and independence.  However, you can help him with his separation anxiety by leaving for a few minutes while you're children or husband are around to garner for his attention with play and/or treats.  Each time you leave extend the amount of time and over time he will soon realize you will always return home to him and he will learn to not only depend on you for sole affection, but your family as well.
