I have an 2002 oldsmobile alero and it had a leak of some sort. ?

I looked under the hood and theres a tube coming out of the coolant tank that connects nowhere. Its a short tube about half a foot long. I'm sure its supposed to be connected to something cuz the coolant is coming out of it... Help?

  1. It is just for the over flow they are have them did you get the car really hot check your antifreeze level you might be overfull to start with


  2. If the hose is on the top of the tank it is an over flow. There should be a hose going into the bottom and it should be connected to the radiator. The coolant flows back and forth keeping the radiator full at all times. That tank has hot and cold markings on it and it shouldn't be full and running over unless you filled it up. Next time just fill it to the full mark. If you didn't fill it up you have another problem causing it to over flow.
