I have tried to get friends and family to help, but they were no help at all. I am going to have to take it in!

What is the approximate cost of replacing a starter on that car at the shop?

Thanks!

  1. idk about $200 $350 the the started its about $120 plus labor make sure its ur started ..when is goin bad it makes a clicking noise if looks like its dieing it might me alternated

  2. I would say about $ 300.Ask the place you take it in to if you bring in the part what would the labor cost you.You can buy the part allot cheaper from a auto part store.Good Luck.

  3. First off this is not a hard job, a couple hours and basic tools and it can be done in the driveway:

The starter is behind the engine bolted onto the transmission.  Here are the steps to do the job:

    1.  Disconnect the battery.

    2.  Remove the air box and air intake bellows (several 10mm bolts).

    3.  Remove the 12mm nut holding the positive battery cable onto the starter.

    4.  Remove the starter solenoid connector.

    5.  Remove the two 14mm bolts attaching the starter to the transmission.

    6.  Remove the starter through the opening created by removing the air box.

    7.  Install the new starter with the two 14mm bolts.

    8.  Reattach the positive battery cable to the starter with the 12mm nut.

    9.  Reconnect the starter solenoid.

    10.  Reinstall the air box and air intake bellows.

    11.  Reconnect the battery.

The starter itself if bought from about any parts store should be about 50.00-75.00.

With the labor rate at 40.00 per hour and an estimated 2 hours for the job, 80.00

    So about 130.00 - 155.00.
