Question:

I have an 8-station sprinkler system. Stations 2-8 work fine, station 1 does not come on, even manually. Help

Station 1 comes on, but only one sprinkler head has water, and it is barely a dribble. All other stations work fine.

  1. Even if your controller was hooked up incorrectly, manually turning on the valve should work.  Therefore, lets ignore controller issues.

    Make sure you don't have a break in the line somewhere.  Check for soggy areas in the ground where the line may be.  If you can say that there isn't a break, then it could be a valve issue, or supply line issue.  If the valve has a flow control, make sure it isn't shut off.  And if for some reason you have a shutoff valve in line before your electronic valve, such as a ball valve on a backflow preventer, make sure that is open as well.

    I would shut off the water main, open up the electronic valve and remove its innards, then turn the water back on to see if good flow is going to the valve.  If you get good flow to the valve, then the valve could be bad.  Last possibility, though less likely, would be a clog in the main line after the valve.
