short beds have 16-20gal. tanks.

long beds have 20-24 gal. tanks.

I had a 85 and it had about 22 gal tank

They claim 24 gallons but I just replaced the fuel pump on mine and with a bone dry tank it will fill up with 22.5 gallons.

run it low, fill it up and read the number on the gas pump.

if your truck has the dual tank setup, both short and long bed will have two 16 gal. tanks... unless the gvwr is over 8600 pounds. then there will be two 20 gal. tanks.

(gvwr stands for "gross vehicle weight rating", which is the weight of the truck and the weight it can carry)

most 1 ton trucks have this rating or higher

some 3/4 ton trucks will have this rating
