I have an 88 maxima when the engine is cold it hesitated on acceleration,but when it warms up its fine

what could be the problem? pls help someone thanks is it a sensor,? i changed the coolant sensor,,,

Check your water temp sensor.  it is suppose to tell your computer to run rich when cold.  Cold engines does NOT run well unless it is in choke mode (run rich mode).

OK, but it could still be the bad new sensor, connectors, wires to the sensor.

check and clean the throttle body.

fuel filter due for change? mileage?

any computer fault codes present? (besides Knock Sensor)

Sometimes this can mean an intake gasket leak. When the engine warms up the gasket expands and the leak will stop/reduce causing the engine to run better.
