Just wondering are the games regional free because the woman in the shop told me that it should work, but its saying "not able to connect due to different media output" or something?

  1. American consoles are NTSC formatted, while European consoles are PAL formatted.  You'll need to buy import games or a new PS3.

  2. Yes, just like DVDs they are region coded.  Sorry to break it to you... but it wont work.  Only games that are designated as region 1, which is North America (USA & Canada) will work.  You'll want to look at the spine of the game case.  Towards the bottom will be a little black box with a little globe graphic and the number 1.

  3. its not going to work. you would need an american ps3 game or an irish ps3
