I am not sure yet what I want to do in psychology but I have been in undergad for 6 years and now I am going to grad school. What master degrees in psychology can i get in one or a year and a half. And what school has the program it does not matter if it is online.

  1. That would depend on what field of psychology you want to earn. Consider the studies of abnormal, analytical, animal, applied, dynamic, experimental, gestalt or individual studies to place a foundation for your future career. Each one varies in educational time. As for schools, guess you can use a little of you psychologics gained to research the schools for the above studies.

  2. My frank opinion - if you going for a Master Degree for such a short time; buy one - it's faster. But if you want a degree that provides you with knowledge and experience where yopur client and colleagues will look up upon you, then go for a Master in Social Work.

You will have more options and clients to choose and work with, that you prefer. I am not sure where you are located, but choose a recognised degree recomended by Associations such as NASW, that falls under IFSW

  3. May be this site can help you

  4. I hate to say it but it depends. What is your career goal? That really determines your type of MA in Psych. for instance if you want to become a school counselor then you'll need an MA with that training. If you are looking to work more as a psychotherapist it's a little bit different as well. Your career goal will ultimately determine your degree choice as well as school.

  5. hi there.. im a ba psychology major as well with post back in Industrial psychology and masters in abnormal psychology :P pretty weird huh..

u nid to follow your hear regardless of how many years will it take you

remember its a SPECIALIZATION it requires passion.. :P

  6. Personally I think you would do better with an MSW and then get your LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Work), but the University of Hartford in Hartford Connecticut has a terminal Master Degree in Psychology, I believe, as does Central Connecticut State University, I think.
