I have an Enterprise Mfg. Co. Cast Iron Tobacco Cutter, Patent date is 1/20/1885. Any idea how it's used?

"The champion knife improve" is written above the blade, with "1" and 2" inch" on the bottom plate.

  1. At a time (well before MY time), chewing tobacco was sold to retail stores in bricks.  People would buy the tobacco from the store in "plugs".  The cutter was used to cut the plugs off the larger brick.


  2. google it. Never heard of  one.i live in the south and know tobacco knives so you need to go farther. Good luck
