An Honest Lawyer? You gotta be kidding. Anyway, You have to change your Fm3 from I assume tourist to working. I have been told that it is a help or maybe even necessary to prove that you are in a business that a local can't provide. For example I have an american friend who opened a coffee house english book store. Mostly coffee house. I personally don't pay for imigration papers and do own my own business but I don't recomend that in La Paz. Imigration is CRAZY there. I got married in La Paz in 2001. I had to take my neighbors ,four of them, in for the interview. The one big question was if I was currently working. If you have access to a boat radio most of the americans live on boats and have a net at 8 or 9 in the morning. Ask some of them.  The Imigration office is on the beach like you are going to the ferry.
