I have recently purchased a 1080 HD Sony BRavia tlevision. But all my channels are not in HD, only some are. I know someone who has them all in HD, and well, im jealous that they have a smaller HD television than us, but better quality. Am i supposed to get the cable guy to come in and make them all in HD, or do i have to purchase yet another item in this chain of useless technology? Please answer ASAP/ thank have a grea day :).

  1. You can not get every channel that a company broadcasts to be in High Definition, your company may offer an expanded selection but certain channels are just not available in high definition yet.

  2. Well it depends on the content provider.

HD content is most likely 1080i that is (1080x 1920 pixels) interlaced.

Having a non HD channel just means it 480p meaning less pixels for the same screen size (making the picture less sharp). It's not your tv, but rather what channels you are able to receive in your given area.

You do not need to purchase anything. Bravias come with a inbuilt HD decoder.
