  1. I tell you what we got.  We had the same issue once upon a time.

We got an HDMI switcher from monoprice.  5 input and 1 output and back then the prices for these switchers were $80 to $100.  Right now they have a 4 input and 1 output for less than $40 and is compliant to latest HDMI standards.  Good deal if you ask me.

Since then we have upgraded our home entertainment with a surround system and went with Sony's Blu Ray Disc Matching Component Home Theater.  This is a great system which has 3 HDMI inputs to 1 output.  It's great feeding everything HD into your sound system.  This runs $400 or $500 depending on what type speakers you want with the system, tower or small box...they both output 1000W.

One thing is for sure, you can't beat having PS3 hooked up to your sound system.   With the so many things PS3 does, it's awesome to be able to hear the games, movies, and music throughout your household.

  2. you can buy a surround sound receiver with atleast 2 hdmi inputs, and has 1 hdmi output. plus, if you add speakers you'll get surround sound if you dont have one already.

  3. You can get an HDMI switcher.

  4. Component (Red, Green, Blue...cables)

well you can run the cable box through a yellow A/V cable if it is not HD CABLE BOX. and you can run your PS3 over HDMI.

If you cable box is HD then the next thing that you can do is see what type of connections it has either it would be COMPONENT, DVI, or HDMI.

Remember that the PS3 is easy to work with cause it can be ran both COMPONENT and HDMI so you have two options with it but remember that if you run it over component then you will not be able to take advantage of the 1080p is your TV accepts the signal.

But about your cable box, if it has a DVI connection. go to wal mart and get you a DVI to HDMI, and connect through HDMI and your PS3 to component. If it is COMPONENT then use COMPONENT  cables to make the connection.  And connect the PS3 HDMI.  I really hope this helps

    Good Luck Man

  5. An HDMI switcher such as this one will work perfectly, plus give you the flexibility to add 2 more HDMI sources in the future.
