now i had just bought call of duty 4 for the pc. but the problem is when ever i play the game on either single player or multi player it is slow and really annoying. it is almost like there is so much lag. i can understand the slowness on multi but even when ever i do missions it is slow. now is there any way to improve this? also could it possible be my internet connection is bad or does internet only matter for multi? the only thing i really know about my laptop is that it has 3gig ram and a 250gig hard drive i am not so sure on the video card but it does have an intel core 2 duo. also the operating system is vista home premium.

Thanx

  1. those have bad graphics cards, i got a dv5 series, not much lag

  2. tell me Ghz and graphic card?

i have dv6000 special edition notebook pc.

also, try to lower the graphic settings. it might help

  3. in reality laptop aren't ideal for gaming because of upgrade flexibility, with technology advancing as fast as it is, your laptop will be outdated within months so if you are a hardcore gamer then go back to a tower for easy upgrades. with most HP laptops the video is pretty garbage. these entertainment laptops are really just to handle music and video and gaming should be left aside.

  4. hey. we have the same laptop. but i have a 4gb hard drive. make sure you close all other windows on the screen when you're playing. are you playing on wireless internet? or do you have the ethernet cable connected? if you're running on wireless internet from home, then try connecting an ethernet cable from the router to your laptop and try that out.

  5. i have the same laptop as you. the strange thing is when i bought the laptop he said he reccomends it for gaming. But i too have experienced slow gameplay. Really there's nothing you can do except try to delete un neccessary programs to make more space. Or you can go out and buy the nvidea g force upgrade. it 119.99 though

  6. make sure you check your optional updates in windows update

  7. It is probably the video card in the laptop, they are pretty slow still and probably not enough to handle the game. Laptops have built in video cards that share memory so if the game uses a lot of memory the video card loses it.
