If I conceived between June 9-19, could I have still gotten a negative reading on July 19?? That was the last HPT I took, but I still haven't gotten AF. I'm heading to the Dr. tomorrow I'm just curious as to what you girls think, could I still be pregnant?

  1. Some woman just don't have luck with HPT.  My sister-in-law, all 4 times, had to have a blood test because the home tests just didn't read for her.

Head to the doctor, and see whats up.  I'd say you're either pregnant or something is seriously wrong.

  2. It's extreamly unlikely that you are pregnant. It is true that a small majority of women do not respond to HPTs (either they are too stupid to properly follow the directions, or their body just doesn't filter hcg from their blood into their urine very well for the HPT to detect the hcg in the urine).

So unless you just can't follow simple instructions, there is almost no chance that you are pregnant. It's more likely that your body simply didn't ovulate and you skipped a period. There is nothing "wrong" with you if that happened. It can happen VERY easily if you've been under some sort of stress, mental, physical, emotional, or something you might not even realize is a stressor. As an example, a trip to someplace unusual can be a stress on your body and cause your ovaries to basically shut down. (There was a story in the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" where a woman spent the summer in London. He had a period just before she left. For the entire 3 months in London, she didn't have any periods. But about 2 weeks after returning home, her periods resumed as normal).

Other wise, for 99% of women, an HPT will indicate a positive after only two weeks after conception.

  3. It could happen.  Best thing to do is ask for a blood test.

  4. You could be, just because those things are VERY inaccurate.
