Question:

I have an IMPORTANT resume question.

I've posted this question twice and I received no answer.

I'm interviewing for an entry-level position in a couple of days or so and I already have a chronological resume set up (a recruiter helped me with it a few years ago at a job fair). My current work experience will serve me well in this position, however, I don't have enough experience in the field itself to warrant a functional resume.

In fact, my previous job before my current one was fast food.

Should I stick with my chronological format or change to functional?

Also, I quit a small, part-time 2nd job I had on the side for two months due to a personality conflict with my employer. Do I need to add this to the resume (I'm not going to bad-mouth him or anything like that)?

  1. chronological is fine, but add sections detailing specific skills you have. this will focus their attention in on the things you are offering. List the second job, but come up with a good reason for leaving it (such as: working there was drawing your attention away from your main career objectives and you wanted to fully commit to them...)

  2. functional , add 2nd job
