Okay...here it gos. I have an IPOD and to put MP3 songs on it, I have to go through I tunes by Apple, so I downloaded the Itunes software and each time I get MP3 songs I transfer them from my docs to the I tunes library which in turn transfers them to my IPOD.

HOWEVER..I did not know that those songs were being loaded into my windows media player also and they worked in conjunction together because today I deleted a huge amount of songs from the media player.

Later on when I tried to play my songs from the Itunes, it would not let me stating that the info had been lost from another source...which was the windows media player. I never knew if I deleted from the media player that this would happen.

I still have all the orginal songs on my IPOD and it was not affected. Is there any way of downloading from the IPOD to the windows media player to reinstall all this lost music??

I tried for about 2 hours tonight with no luck to restore the music, I hope there is a way. Maybe I am doing something wrong. My laptop is a new HP with vista. I hope you can help... thanks.

  1. music files from itunes are drm-laden. in order to play them on mp3 players other than ipod and iphone, you need a special program to help strip off the protection and convert the itunes m4p, m4b, m4a music to mp3. i always use tuneclone. my friend introduced it to me. it automatically generates a virtual cd burner, with which the music files can be converted at very high speed.

you can learn more about it from:

    http://www.tuneclone.com

  2. if the music is on the ipod and youd like to put it back on pc to transfer to windows media player or itunes you can use this simple to use program i used it to do what ur  here it is: works with vista,

  3. You may be able to find programs like iDumper.

Never delete files from one app that work in another unless you don't want them, because they'll likely delete them directly from your hard drive... as you found out, I guess.
