  1. 1 degree or less.  Any warmer than that all you food will go off.

  2. it is 4

  3. Look in your handbook, failing that start with the lowest temp then increase temp up by one every 24 hours until you find the correct setting.

  4. 4 degrees celcius or below.

there is a temperature range called 'the danger zone' this is 5*c to 75*c.

this is the temperature range at which bacteria is able to grow. if food is left in this tempaerature zone then bad bacteria will be able to grow and multiply and you food will be unsafe to eat. bacteria grows expenantially every 10 minutes. so for example if you start with 1000 bad bacteria on your food, after 10 minutes in the danger zone you will have 2000 bad bacteria. after 20 minutes you will have 4000 bad bacteria. after half an hour you will have 8000 bactaria etc. they say the maximum you should food you at room temperature (the danger zone) is 2 hours. after this the food will be unsafe to eat so unless you plan to eat perishable food quickly you need to store in in a refrigerator. the temperature of the fridge must not be in the danger zone fo therefore below 4 degrees celcius.

to be safe i leave my fridge at 2*c =)
