I have an NEC refrigerator

Question

I have an NEC refrigerator model FR480 eight years old that has stopped cooling. Called the technician who can't get information with regard to the electronic controls. It appears that the compresor and coolant are in order, but a signal is obviously being being sent to the equipment to stop cooling. With its relatively young years it seems incredible that it has already broken down and being advised to replace. Can you assist.Pieter
